Welcome to Ponnavaram Model Village

Adopting a Village is designed to empower communities to break the cycle of poverty
and support themselves over the long period of time. In this process most of them
know that I have adopted Ponnavaram village in Krishna district, AP. My vision is
to transform this village into a model village by creating holistic and sustainable
solutions for education, health, clean water, agriculture and food security and
alternative income and livelihood development. My team headed by Special officer
Mr Bhavani Shankar are working closely with the community members of this village.
Establishment of health facilities in Ponnavaram village is amongst my priorities.
Medical camps were conducted diagnosing the people with various ailments and following
up for corresponding treatment. Ailments related to heart , eyes etc which needed
immediate surgeries were attended to accordingly. But I believe for common ailments
like cold, cough fever etc, Homeopathy should be preferable option keeping in mind
all the advantages. As I mentioned in the post on my wall on April 10th on the occasion
of World Homeopathy Day, Homeopathy medicine is famous alternate treatment that
we have today, which is traditionally made of natural substances and is non toxic.
It is known to cure chronic diseases and has practically no side effects and it
is a low cost alternative treatment based on symptoms. My team had prepared Homeopathy
medicine kits which can cure cold , fever, body pains and indigestion. They educated
the villagers about the advantages and usage of the kit and distributed them . I
thank my team for the wonderful coordination and efforts they put in helping me
turn Ponnavaram into a model village, and taking further steps towards achieving
our goal.
