'KALALAYA' FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION
Fine arts association 'Kalalaya' functions under the astounding direction of Ms. K.Ganga, Asst Professor, Dept. of Tamil. To reinforce the extra-curricular talents of the students various cultural programmes were conducted
  • SNIGDA- Fresher's Day was celebrated to exhibit the innate talent of the 1st year students.
  • Krishna Jayanthi was celebrated in a traditional manner and Rangoli competition& Powerpoint presentation was conducted on that day.
  • ESHA Inter Departmental Cultural show was conducted for our girls to inculcate competitive spirit among students.
  • Chaitanya Inter-Colligiate Cultural fest.
  • To mark the Navarathiri celebration our girls performed variety of cultural programmes in Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Temple.
  • As part of Pongal celebration Folk dance competition was conducted.

CLUB REPORTS:-
It is truly said that JANA SEVA is JANARDHANA SEVA. Different clubs of our college functions with a mission to cultivate the spirit of SEVA, compassion, responsibility, modesty, vigor, and dedication among our students and engaged them in various activities.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (N.S.S.):-
Under the able guidance of NSS coordinators Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Tamil and Ms. K. AYSHA BANU Assistant professor. Dept. of Home Science - Interior Design & Decor, the N.S.S Unit of our College has involved itself in the following activities:
  • NSS volunteers were trained in bag designing and the amount collected by the sale of bags was sent to Uttarkand Relief Fund.
  • Orientation and awareness on breast cancer & breast cancer camp were conducted for NSS students.
  • NSS students visited educational trust Vikasatarangini and arranged the books in Agarwal Bhavan library.
  • Our NSS team rendered service in a 100% vegetarian Camp at T.Nagar.
  • Participated in Rally against illicit liquor organized by Tamilnadu Police.
  • On AIDS day an AIDS awareness programme was organized.
  • Nutritious food cooking competition was organized on NSS day.
  • Roof Garden was designed and developed in our college premises to spread the message of greenery concept.
  • A special seven days camp in Unani herbal hospital at Puduvoyil Village was organized.
  • 60 Students render service in Tirumala For 8 days during vaikunta ekadasi
  • Plublic eye camp –NSS students conducted by college
  • Plastic awarness – Marina beach

YOUTH RED CROSS (YRC):-
YRC under the leadership of Ms. P. Niranjana, Head, Dept. of Management Studies involved itself in the following social service activities
  • An orientation program for YRC members was conducted by Mr. Kadhar Basha from Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS)
  • On the eve of Geneva Convention for world peace YRC members participated in various competitions and Rally.
  • YRC Programme officer Ms. P. Niranjana was in-charge for Essay writing competition which was conducted in IRCS, Egmore.
  • Dental, ENT, hemoglobin and blood donation camps were organized for students, staff and parents.
  • On the eve of Friendship day, our YRC volunteers displayed Friendship day posters in our college premises.
  • YRC members rendered volunteer service for 10 days at Egmore Ophthalmic Eye hospital.
  • YRC Volunteers went for library cleaning at Agarwal Bhavan.
  • To raise funds for the club 'Noble Bazaar' was put up in the college premises.
  • YRC along with Lion's Club of Shanti Colony organized a programme on 'Women Empowerment' and Lion. Pulavar. M. Ramalingam was a key note speaker of the day.
  • YRC Volunteers helped the visually challenged students on their Graduation day which was held at Ripon Building.
  • Yrc club celebrated frienship day in tamilnadu blind school.
  • Yrc donated tablets to day care hospital
  • Gyneic and psychatric seminar conducted by chettinad health city for final year syudents.
  • Eye ,ent,gyneic,dental and blood donation camps were conducted for students .
  • Women rights seminar was organised for yrc members and the same was conducted by Ms.Vedavalli kumar –Senior Advocate.
  • Visited chettinad hospital for a complimentary health check up with students ,staff and their family members
On proud note our Youth Red Cross received an award from Governor of TN for collecting maximum number of blood units for 3 consecutive years. Youth red cross received Apprecition Award .

ROTARACT CLUB
The Rotaract club under the guidance of Ms. Rajshree Rajesh, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce executed various projects .
  • Supported Shiksha project with the District Rotract Council in collecting books to create a library for the needy students.
  • Made plantations in the campus
  • Celebrated Joy of Giving week by visiting an Orphanage named “ANNAI BHARATHA MADHA ILLAM” and taught to make Greting cards to those children
  • Celebrate Vinayaka Chathurdi and Christmas in elders home and Orphanage every year
  • Human formation of the national slogan “ JAI HIND “ for Republic Day 2015.
  • Every year service is done for polio drop camp in Vyasarpadi.
  • International project Exchanged letter pad and badges with Rtr.Ernest Mackrina from Zimbabwe.
  • Celebrated Independence Day in Elders Home.
  • A day was spent in Melmaruvathur village with the farmers and helped them in agricultural activities.This is an initiative of the members to understand the importance of agriculture in today’s scenario.
  • Rotract Club of our college received award for Holiday project for the year 2014-15.
  • Ms. Rajshree Rajesh has received a citation and shield titled FRIEND OF ROTARY from Rotrary Club of Madras Midtown for being the co-ordinator over the years
  • The college Rotaract club received awards for best projects from the district Rotaract Council for the year 2012-2013 namely Best Innovative Project Award, Outstanding Joint Project Award, Best Joint Project Award. The club also received an award for celebrating 'Joy of Giving Week' by Ethiraj College.
  • On the installation day of the club the teaching and the non-teaching staff who had completed more than 10 years of service were recognized .On the same day a seminar on 'Women Health' was conducted by Dr. Sheela Nambiar.
  • As part of 'Chennai Day' Celebrations the club conducted essay writing, pencil sketching and poetry competitions.
  • Rotaract along with YRC put up stalls to mobilize funds for needy people.
  • Our Club girls Celebrated Vinayaka Chathurthi in Sevalaya ashram.
  • Four of our club girls participated in RYLA Camp.
  • More than 750 students of our girls participated in a HI 5 Guinness record.
  • Joy of Giving Week was celebrated.
  • Vaccination camp was organized wherein Rubella vaccination was given to about 340 students of our College.

CITIZENS CONSUMER CLUB
The Citizens Consumer Club under the guideship of Ms. V. Sampath Kumari, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce and Ms. M. Jayanthi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Corporate
Secretaryship organized following activities:
National Consumer Day and World Protection Rights Day were celebrated. The programs were inaugurated by Mr. Swaran Singh IAS, Commissioner, Dept. of Civil Supplies. 15 colleges had participated and the overall shield was won by D.G. Vaishnav College and the runner up Shield was taken by Bakthavachalam Memorial College for Women.

KARUNA CLUB 2013-2014
Karuna club under the directions of Ms. L. Madhumitha, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce joined hands with Karuna International to support a petition for a 'Review of the Meat Export Policy'
  • The club celebrated 'National Bird Welfare Day to bring out the importance of conservation and protection of our National Bird and along with ECO club celebrated 'Vanamahotsav Day' wherein Dr. G. Koteswara Prasad, The Registrar-in-charge, University of Madras planted two Shenbaga tree in our college premises
  • To celebrate the World Vegetarian Day the club conducted 'Fruits & Vegetable Salad Preparation' competition.
  • As part of food week celebration Essay writing competition was conducted
  • On the eve of Swamy Vivekananda's 150th Birthday Pencil Sketch Competition was held.
2014-2015
  • The club celebrated “Nature Conservation Day” to inculcate the value of nature.
  • Vanamahotsav, the festival of trees was celebrated our Hony.Correspondent Mr.P.V.Krishna Rao planted “Hibiscus Plant” and our Principal Dr.T.Mohanashree & Vice Principal Dr.P.B.Vaneetha planted “Ixora Plant”.
  • The club celebrated Ahimsa Day by visiting the “Goshala” which facilitated the students to know the usefulness of domestic animals to the human race.
  • Some of our students participated in the cookery competition conducted by World Veg Council.
  • The club celebrated the Animal Righs Day by conducting a programme Mr.K.Mahee Kiran Sharma addressed the students.
  • The club conducted Rangoli competition on the topic “Love for Animals”.
  • The club also conducted Face painting & Mehandi comp0etitions on the topics “ Living in harmony with Nature” and “ Peace”
  • The club donated some sports kit & eatables to “Ashraya ” the school for special education for mentally challenged
2015-2016
  • The Karuna club organized a programme on the topic “Role of students in Animal Welfare” Mr. Choolai Sukumar Koteswaran addressed the students in Environmental issues and Domestic care.
  • The club celebrated “Vanamahotsav Day” a festival of trees. The objective of this event is to plant trees and protect them in order to conserve nature. Our Principal Dr.T.Mohanashree planted a “Nerium Oleander” sapling in our college campus.
  • The club also organized one day “Students Training Programme in Humane Education”. In which eminent personalities from Karuna International addressed the students.
  • As a tribute to the Missile man Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the Karuna club planted 100 saplings through our students at their places with the support of Ms.S.Mala Katrela, Editor Anuvratam.

ECO CLUB:-
Eco club under the directions of Ms. Bhanu, Head, Dept. of Sociology conducted the following activities
  • In an attempt to learn about various methods of waste management students of Sri kanyakaparameswari College for Women along with Exnora Greater Chennai coordinators visited the bio-gas plant at Pammal.
  • Mangalam Balasubramanian of Exnora Green Pammal explained about the plant and taught about the intricacies like segregation of waste, converting into bio-gas and electricity etc. A press note said a project called ‘Plastic wate packets are collected and used to make useful products like curtains, bags,files, pouches etc., was demonstrated.
  • By converting food and vegetable waste into bio-gas that could later be used for cooking and lighting purposes, a lot of energy resources can be saved. Dry waste can be used for making charcoal briquetttes.
  • Events and competitions are educated on various environmental issues like Pot painting, Model making , Face painting Photo search of rare species on environmental awareness
  • Tree plantations on various Occasions.

QUIZ CLUB :-
Quiz club under the directions of Ms. Sushma S.Chawla & Ms.Gouthami Asst. Professor, Dept. of Management Studies and Ms. M. Jayanthi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Corporate Secretaryship organized following activities:
  • As part of republic day celebration quiz on 'Constitution of India' was conducted.
  • The quiz club of inter departmental written quiz on the topic “ INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE ‘ as a part of Independence day celebration at college.
  • The Quiz Club also conducts competitions on Republicday to enhance the knowledge on CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.
  • Quiz Club conducts various Quiz Competitions to test the knowledge of students regarding Current affairs.
